‘Would Love to Get Kohli Out’: Dwarshuis Ahead of PBKS vs RCB Clash
Ben Dwarshuis wants to hunt down Virat Kohli: Australian pacer Ben Dwarshuis says he wants to take Virat Kohli's wicket in IPL 2026. Ben said, "Kohli is definitely a player I would be happy to take."
Ben Dwarshuis, the Australian left-arm fast bowler who will play IPL in 2026 for Punjab Kings, says that there is nothing that would bring happiness this season than dismissing Virat Kohli. He is not an ordinary bowler because he is second on the list of most wicket-takers in the history of the Big Bash League having taken 164 wickets. He is now part of the Punjab Kings side after he was purchased for ₹4.40 crore in the December auction.
When asked which Indian batsman he wished to dismiss this season, the left-arm fast bowler did not hesitate; he wishes to dismiss Virat Kohli, the captain who won the 2025 IPL with Royal Challengers Bangalore.
He said, "There are probably six or seven Indian players I could name. But there's nothing better than taking Virat Kohli's wicket, whether the match is at home or in Bengaluru. He's definitely a player I would be very happy to take."

Dwarshius has played only six ODIs and 15 T20 Internationals since his international debut in 2022. He believes that leagues like the IPL play a vital role in bringing players into the spotlight. He said, "Whenever you step on the field, there's always a lot of attention on you, whether they're watching from Australia or another league." Given the popularity of these tournaments, if you perform well for a few years, everyone starts talking about you.
Dwarshius has a great opportunity to cement his place in the T20I team, as Australia has been searching for a replacement for Mitchell Starc since his retirement from T20Is last year. He is also in the running for Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis, and Spencer Johnson. Ben says there are several bowlers in the Australian team who have followed Mitch Starc, Hazlewood, and Cummins. But these three have not easily opened the door for others to take their place.
He said that Mitch's retirement has obviously left a void. There are several players trying to fill that spot. The competition is fierce, but knowing that a spot is available opens up a potential path to a spot if you perform well.
