Kia Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG: Variants, Engine Specs, Boot Space and Expected Mileage
Kia Carens Clavis CNG: At the launch of the Sorento, Kia shared some details about the CNG versions of the Carens and Carens Clavis. These will come with 1-5 liter engines and factory-fitted CNG kits.
When Kia rolled out its Sorento, the manufacturer also launched the specifications of the CNG-powered Carens and Carens Clavis MPVs. The CNG-powered variants of these MPVs will get a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, a factory-installed CNG kit, and 60 liters capacity CNG storage tank in the boot area.
Kia had always intended to launch a CNG variant of its models in India. Till now, the Carens offered a CNG kit option; however, it was installed by the dealerships. The prices of the Carens and Carens Clavis with CNG kits are expected to be announced soon.
Talking about the CNG specifications, there will be a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine with an output of 93 hp and 123 Nm of torque, a 22 hp and 21 Nm reduction from the petrol variant of the car. Fuel efficiency figures haven't been disclosed yet; however, the estimated fuel efficiency should be in the range of 22-25 km/kg.
