Dr. Priyanka Maurya Appointed to Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission by Yogi Adityanath Government

She was announced as the face of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's manifesto on women's issues in 2022 during the assembly elections. She symbolized Congress's campaign to empower women; however, later she raised objections against how Congress's campaign was conducted and expressed her public discontentment with the party's inner workings. She said she was one among these "deserving" ticket holders, denied a seat because she could not afford it. She says: "Congress used me to their benefit for getting the OBC votes, but they had already decided to give the ticket to some other person." Since this incident occurred, Dr. Maurya quit Congress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). And she has been campaigning for many other candidates ever since.

She is a postgraduate with more than 10 years of work experience in social service and has worked associated with some of the loftiest social initiatives in India. She is the founder member of Neki Ki Deewar in Lucknow, an initiative to reach the underprivileged. She is also the National Coordinator for Roti Bank and a National Vice President for the Shambhuka Foundation. Ministry of State Shri Kaushal Kishore has mobilized virtually every significant work she has initiated by the organization, such as drug awareness programs across most districts in Uttar Pradesh. She's a huge social media fan, with over 1 million followers whom she inspires and keeps signed in with causes for social issues, especially women's empowerment and health.

Beyond her very busy political life, Dr Priyanka Maurya is a highly respected homeopathic doctor and consultant. She offered free medical consultation to thousands of people when the COVID-19 pandemic struck. She ran various health campaigns on cleanliness, hygiene, food nutrition, and other health-related issues. Numerous prestigious awards recognized her endless efforts, such as the Women of Excellence in 2020 and the RedFM Achievers Award in 2021, which repositioned her as a dedicated professional and caring social worker.

She is a member of the Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission and promised to resolve women's issues with the newly found energy. The most daunting challenge women face today is still the domestic violence," according to her. "People should respect them as they have respect," says Dr. Maurya, "though we speak about the empowerment of women, women are not yet empowered and not provided with proper support or opportunities to rise." They overcome all the obstacles when they move forward. The people want them to fall back, but she has vowed to stand on a working vision to overcome these obstacles for women and garner the rightful rights and respect women deserve.

A hardcore votary of the cause of hard work and perseverance, Dr Maurya has always believed so. She thanked Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other senior BJP leaders for trusting her with this exposure at the state level after being nominated as a member of the Women Commission. She said, "Hard work is the key to success and it is due to my hard work that I have reached this level." I will keep on working hard for the people of Uttar Pradesh, especially women who face issues at home and in society." Now, as a member of the Women's Commission, she can bring changes in the administrative arena regarding these issues and make a difference.

Dr Priyanka Maurya can be best described as a political campaign face to that of a senior leader in the BJP and now a member of the Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission. Perhaps perseverance, commitment, and dedication to social justice have taken her a long way in this journey, but she is all set to play out a telling role in this new assignment by pushing the cause of women's rights and empowerment in Uttar Pradesh.
