US Open 2026: Barbora Krejcikova Suffers First-Round Shock Exit, Jessica Pegula Advances

In women's singles, there was an absolute shock on the first day of the season's final Grand Slam tournament, the US Open. The 27th-seeded and two-time Grand Slam winner, Barbora Krejcikova, was eliminated from the tournament by Kamilla Rakhimova of Uzbekistan in straight sets. On the other hand, third-seeded American Jessica Pegula and 19th-seeded Jasmine Paolini won their matches to move to the next round.
