India vs Uruguay Football Friendly: Federico Valverde, Rodrigo Bentancur and Ronald Araujo Named in Squad
The Indian women's football team may also host the Russian women's team in October. According to a source within the All India Football Federation, the match is awaiting FIFA and UEFA approval.
Uruguay have named their squad to play next month’s friendly game against India. Real Madrid ace Federico Valverde is part of Uruguay’s squad. The two-time world champions will be playing the friendly match under the guidance of coach Diego Forlan. The friendly game between India and Uruguay will be held on October 6 at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan.
India will play several teams in next month’s friendlies, which will include Brazil, who have won the World Cup five times. The Uruguay team consists of Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Torreira, Giorgian de Arrascaeta, Facundo Pellistri, Maximiliano Araujo, and Brian Rodriguez. The defense line-up of Uruguay features Ronald Araujo, Jose Maria Jimenez, Naitan Nandez, Guillermo Varela, and Mathias Oliveira.
This match against India will be former FIFA World Cup star Forlan's first match as Uruguay's coach. Forlan is a 2010 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball winner and 2011 Copa America champion. He scored 36 goals in 112 appearances for Uruguay. Forlan, who has been associated with several major clubs, has also coached Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League in India.
