India vs Afghanistan T20 Series: Shreyas Iyer Named Captain, 15-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Retained in Squad

The likes of Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, and Harshit Rana were chosen in the squad against Afghanistan but still their fitness is a doubt for the team. In case they are unable to make it back on time, then there are chances that these four players could be dropped from the squad. Nonetheless, this is not the first instance where a team has been selected but still players are suddenly dropped from the squad before the series.

India's T20 team includes regular players like Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Shivam Dubey, Arshdeep Singh, and Varun Chakravarthy. Sanju Samson has returned after being omitted from the T20 series against Zimbabwe in July. Arshdeep is joined by Bumrah and Harshit. Prince Yadav, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, and Mayank Yadav, all of whom were part of the team that toured Zimbabwe, were not included in the squad this time. Hardik Pandya was also not included in the squad.

The first match of the T20 series between India and Afghanistan will be played on September 13, followed by the second match on September 15 and the third on September 17. All three matches will be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
