Jaipur Couture Show Season 14 Opens With Day-One Designer Showcases
Founder Gaurav Gaur's three-day fashion festival began at a Mansarovar hotel with collections from designers across India and about 60 professional models.
JAIPUR, August 9 — The 14th edition of the Jaipur Couture Show opened at a hotel in Mansarovar on Friday, bringing together designers from across India, roughly 60 professional models, and a lineup of celebrity showstoppers for a single-day programme that ran late into the evening. Founder and Director Gaurav Gaur told the audience the show is intended to establish Jaipur as a national fashion platform.
The annual event pairs Rajasthani craft traditions with contemporary design, and organisers said this year's edition was scaled up to a national format with a wider slate of designers and models. For Jaipur — a city long identified with its palaces and heritage crafts — such shows are part of a growing effort to position it as a destination on India's fashion calendar.
Designers Set the Opening Sequences
Designer Charu Parashar's collection opened the first day, with television anchor and former "Bigg Boss 13" contestant Shefali Bagga walking as showstopper. The early sequences that followed featured Panche Beauty by Neelam Jangir, with Sapna Sikarwar; Rukhnman Jodhpur by Dashrat Singh Sodha, with Isha Shah; and Mawali Couture, with Aditi Sanwal.
