Google Meet Introduces AI-Powered Makeup Effects for Web and Mobile Users

Google Meet has announced new features to improve users' hybrid work experience and video call productivity. The technology firm has started launching AI-based makeup effects on the web and mobile. Users can choose from 12 studio-quality makeup looks, from light, natural looks to professional styles, to feel more confident and at ease with their looks in video calls. The feature will be switched off by default and will have to be enabled manually. The AI-based makeup feature will roll out to all the supported Google Meet accounts within the next two weeks.

On Monday, the company revealed adding AI-driven makeup effects to Google Meet through its Workspace blog. The feature lets users select from 12 new studio makeup styles, varying from a professional and sleek look to more emotive expressions. Users' choices will be saved for the next meeting. The company also shared a video of its product lead, Daniela, demoing the AI-powered makeup effects.

This makeup feature allows users to apply virtual foundation, blush, and lipstick that remain natural and stable on their face, even during everyday movements like walking or drinking coffee. This feature is currently rolling out to Google Meet on both mobile devices and the web. The rollout began on October 8th and will be available to all supported accounts over the next 15 days.
