Memorial Coin launched for Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 400th Prakash Utsav

The year 2021 marks the 400th birth anniversary year of the 9th Guru of the Sikh religion, Guru Tegh Bahadur.

To mark this momentous quad-centenary, two Sikh entrepreneurs, Harjinder Singh Kukreja and Jasmeet Singh Saib collaborated to make 1000 limited edition coins which adherents of the Guru, can buy online.

“The Guru’s memorabilia coin has a dimension of 1.7 inches. The metal composition for the coin shall include 30% silver and 70% copper”, says Harjinder Singh Kukreja.

“On one side of the coin is an artistic logo designed by me featuring 400 years of Guru Tegh Bahadur along with a Kirpan”, says Jasmeet Singh Saib of JSAIB productions.

“The other side of the coin features an outline map of undivided india and with an embossed image of the 9th Sikh master”, says Harjinder Singh Kukreja.

The coin features two lines, one is from Gurbani and the other one is a popular saying across the country. ‘Teg Bahadur Simriye Ghar Nau Nidh Awai Dhaye’ and ‘Hind Di Chadar - Guru Tegh Bahadur’ are prominently engraved on the coin,” says Jasmeet Singh Saib of JSAIB productions.

Additionally, the years 1661 and 2021 are also inscribed further showing the birth year of Guru Tegh Bahadur and present year. The commemorative coin will weigh around 30 grams.

This year, the state government is going to celebrate the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji by organising special programs from April 28 to May 1 on 'Guru Teg Bahadur-Hind Di Chadar'.

With this initiative, Sikhs and other believers will have a golden chance to own commemorative medallions on the auspicious occasion of 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
