Mercedes-Benz India has also revealed its launch plans along with announcements about its sales performance and expansion plans. The German brand will launch 9 new cars this year, which will include at least two new AMG models and its EV portfolio is also set to double. Come, let us know about the upcoming cars.

The German company's two AMGs are based on their respective latest-generation counterparts that were first unveiled in late 2022. Mercedes claims to have borrowed Formula 1 technology for their hybrid system. The Mercedes C 63 S e-Performance has a system output of 680 horsepower and 1,020 Nm of torque. It has a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 476 horsepower, as well as an electric motor that produces 204 horsepower and is powered by a 6.1-kWh battery.

An upgraded version of the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine is also available for the S 63 e-Performance. Additionally, a 13.1kWh lithium-ion battery-powered asynchronous electric motor mounted on the rear axle is used. Both have a combined output of 1,430 Nm of torque and 802 horsepower.

Santosh Iyer, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, also said that the launch of the all-new E-Class will take place this year. "The new E-Class LWB will arrive by the end of this year. So, there may be some time without an E-Class in our range," he said.

The brand also plans to introduce three new EVs during the year, one of which is expected to be the Maybach EQS.
