IPL2024: CSK, the batsman who led Chennai to victory in the previous season, will miss the entire campaign

Conway's injury has ruled him out of the IPL 2024, the IPL said in an official statement on Thursday. Richard Gleeson has been added to CSK's squad. The New Zealand batsman, who played 23 matches for CSK in the last two IPL seasons, amassed 924 runs, including nine half-centuries and a career-high 92 not out. Conway had surgery on his thumb even before IPS 2024 began, so it was anticipated that he would miss the first half of the competition.

This left-handed batsman played an important role in CSK's title win last year. CSK included England fast bowler Richard Gleeson in the squad for the remaining matches of IPL 2024. The statement said, “Gleeson has represented England in 6 T20 matches and has 9 wickets to his name. Furthermore, Gleeson has played 90 T20s and taken 101 T20 wickets. He will join CSK at a base price of Rs 50 lakh.”
