'In the current global situation, the importance of hard power has increased again', Army Chief said - Self-reliance increases strength

Army Chief General Manoj Pandey attended a program on Tuesday. During this, he said that in today's global situation, the importance of the hard power of any country has increased again. The Army Chief expressed his views on how self-reliance is playing an important role in shaping India's hard power. In his address, Army Chief General Manoj Pandey said that 'Rapid changes are taking place in the current geo-strategic scenario. Recent geopolitical activities show that wherever concerns arise over national interests, countries will not shy away from war. All these changes have once again proved the importance of hard power.

The Army Chief said that 'the unlimited potential of disruptive technology, the changing character of modern warfare, profound changes in the socio-economic sphere and current global geopolitical trends are the four major drivers of change in the Indian Army. The vision of the Indian Army is to transform into a modern, technology-capable and self-reliant future-ready army. Which is capable of stopping and winning the war even in a multi-domain operation situation, while protecting national interests.

The strength of any country is seen by dividing it into hard power and soft power. In soft power, where without any conflict and use of power, countries fulfil their objectives and influence any other country. Whereas hard power includes the military and economic strength of any country. Due to this, the country wins over some other countries. Hard power mainly uses weapons, army sanctions etc. Whereas in soft power the influence of intangible things like cultural activities, spirituality and yoga is used. At present, many conflicts are going on including Russia Ukraine war, Israel Hamas war.
