IPS officer Nalin Prabhat appointed chief of anti-terrorist force NSG, will hold the responsibility till 2028

NSG: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) of the Central Government approved the appointment of Nalin Prabhat. After assuming his post, he will hold the post of DG of NSG till 31 August 2028.

IPS officer Nalin Prabhat appointed chief of anti-terrorist force NSG, will hold the responsibility till 2028

Senior IPS officer Nalin Prabhat has been appointed as the Chief of the anti-terrorist force NSG (National Security Guard). Nalin Prabhat is a 1992 batch IPS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre and is currently holding the post of Additional Director General of CRPF.

The Central Government's Nalin Prabhat appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). He will serve as the DG of the NSG from August 31, 2028, until his resignation. Black Cat, also known as the NSG anti-terrorist force, was established in 1984. The National Security Guard (NSG) is a specialised force designed to combat terrorism and abduction. The Mumbai 26/11 attacks saw a significant contribution from NSG as well. The additional responsibility of the NSG Chief was held by Sashastra Seema Bal Chief Daljit Singh Chaudhary.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has also approved the appointment of Sapna Tiwari to the post of Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau. Sapna Tiwari is also a 1992 batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre. Presently Sapna Tiwari is posted as Additional Director in IB. Sapna Tiwari has been appointed for two years and she will remain on this post till 30 April 2026.
