Big update coming in Instagram, abusive pictures will be automatically blurred in messages

Meta-owned social media platform Instagram is working on a big feature to prevent nudity. According to the report, Instagram is working on a feature after which nudity pictures sent in direct messages will be automatically blurred.

Instagram has given this information in one of its blogs. This is a new step by the company towards stopping sexual scams and image abuse. According to the company, this will make it difficult to target children. Apart from this, sexual extortion and sextortion will be curbed.

Usually, social media posts of nude photos are used by scammers to threaten and blackmail victims. Threatening to make the picture viral is another way scammers demand money. Two Nigerian brothers were detained in this case not too long ago. A 15-year-old girl was abducted by the two brothers after they had first blackmailed her.

Social media sites like Instagram are under constant pressure to stop doing this. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has expressed regret for sextortion on Facebook and Instagram multiple times. He also expressed regret earlier in the year.
