Television sensation Surbhi Shukla is set to make a captivating comeback after a four-year hiatus with the mysterious series 'Shaitani Rasmein,' now gracing the screens of Star Bharat.
Addressing the industry adage, "out of sight is out of mind," Shukla openly discussed the risks tied to extended breaks from the small screen. Reflecting on her time away, she shared, "I understand the substantial risk of staying away, especially in an industry where new faces grab headlines daily." Despite acknowledging the gamble, Shukla embraced the hiatus for both personal and professional growth, exploring opportunities in South Indian cinema during the industry's slowdown amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Venturing beyond lead roles, Shukla secured roles in two South Indian films, namely 'Rani' and an untitled project. Her return to television materialized with 'Shaitani Rasmein,' a show marking not just her comeback but also a reunion with director Nikhil Sinha, a collaborator from the acclaimed 'Devon Ke Dev Mahadev.'
Speaking about the mysterious new show, Shukla expressed her excitement, stating, "It's more than just a comeback; it's a grand return with my latest collaboration with Star and Nikhil Sinha’s banner, 'Triangle Film Company.'" Drawing parallels to cherished childhood tales, she added, "It takes you back to childhood, reminiscent of our Dadi-Nani ki Kahaniya (Granny’s Stories) - a tapestry woven with the supernatural and the ghostly."
In 'Shaitani Rasmein,' Shukla embodies Arohi, the elder daughter-in-law in a family entangled in a web of desires and mysterious rituals. Offering a glimpse into her character, she revealed, "As the story unfolds, layers to my character will be revealed, but I prefer to keep it a surprise and suspense." The show promises to unfold a gripping narrative, seamlessly blending familial bonds with supernatural elements.
For Shukla, this venture signifies not just a return to Star Bharat but also a reunion with a cherished creative team, infusing her comeback journey with a renewed sense of positivity.
