LSG has registered a thrilling victory in the 39th match of IPL 2024 played between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday night in Chepauk. CSK has suffered its second consecutive and fourth overall defeat at the hands of LSG this season. CSK, batting first, had put 210 runs on the scoreboard, but LSG achieved the target in the last over at the loss of 4 wickets. After losing the winning match, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said that we had control over the match till 13-14 overs, but after that dew became the biggest factor as CSK's spinners were out of the match.

Rituraj Gaikwad said that although it was a good match, the defeat was like swallowing a bitter pill. In the back end, Lucknow did well. Up until the last 13 or 14 overs, we were completely in control of the game, but Stoinis was excellent. There was a lot of dew, which was crucial because it eliminated our spinners from the game. We would have been able to control the match better and go deeper if there had been no dew. We are powerless to stop it, though; this is just a part of the game.

Even in this match against Lucknow, when Ravindra Jadeja was sent to bat at number four, Gaikwad said that if the second wicket fell in the powerplay, then Jaddu would come at number four. He also said that it is certain that if any wicket falls after the powerplay, Shivam will come out to bat. We cannot force the batsmen to get out later.

Rituraj Gaikwad further said that, to be honest, the target we set was not enough. We saw Dew during the practice session also. Because of that, the score was tied, but the credit goes to the Lucknow Super Giants for the way they batted.
