In the wake of increasing tensions in the Middle East, IndiGo Airlines is working towards ensuring the safe return of stranded Indian nationals.

A total of ten special flights will be conducted from Jeddah to four major Indian cities on Tuesday, March 3. Jeddah, a major city in Saudi Arabia where most of the stranded passengers are, will be the central point for this operation.

According to media reports, these flights will operate from Jeddah to Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, and Ahmedabad. The Ministry of Civil Aviation announced on Monday that it is closely monitoring international flights to parts of the Middle East.

The ministry statement said, "IndiGo has planned 10 special flights from Jeddah to India on March 3, 2026, to facilitate the return of stranded passengers. This will be subject to necessary clearances and current airspace conditions. IndiGo is coordinating with the Consulate General of India in Jeddah for passenger convenience."

After the attack by the US and Israel on Iran on February 28, some airspaces in the Middle East were closed, which affected many travelers. The issue was discussed in a meeting led by Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Monday.

The ministry has established special procedures to assist stranded passengers. Airlines are working in collaboration with international civil aviation authorities and the Indian government to facilitate the travel of stranded passengers.
