WhatsApp Rolls Out Web Calling: Users Can Now Make Audio and Video Calls Directly From Browser
WhatsApp has introduced many calling features recently. You have the facility to make audio and video calls via a web browser without needing to download the desktop version of WhatsApp. You can make individual calls, group calls, transfer a current call to another device and you can also use a call tab where you can share the screen, send reactions, see call history and favorite contacts. Some other new features include a waiting room that will make the group calls safer, QuickHD that enhances video quality and noise suppression for clear audio.
Meta-owned WhatsApp has rolled out several new features as of Tuesday. The major feature is the ability to make audio and video calls directly from the web browser instead of using the desktop app for the same. Meta claims that this feature makes it easier for people to use WhatsApp on various devices.
According to WhatsApp, you can now make both one-to-one and group calls from the browser. There will also be a dedicated call tab for screen sharing, reaction to messages while making calls, and call history as well as favorite contacts. This feature will benefit those using shared computers, office laptops not allowing app installation, or people preferring browsers over apps.
WhatsApp has also introduced a call transfer feature, allowing users to easily transfer an ongoing group call from their mobile phone to a computer or another device without disconnecting it.
