Prime Minister Modi also asked about Neeraj's injury and praised the sportsmanship shown by his mother. Congratulating him, the PM said, you have once again brought glory to the country. The whole country was looking at you with hope. Neeraj said that due to the injury, there was difficulty in throwing, we will try in future also and will perform better in the upcoming games.

Earlier, PM Modi wrote in a post on the social media platform 'X', "Neeraj Chopra is a living example of excellence, he has shown his talent time and again. India is happy that he has once again succeeded in the Olympics. Congratulations to him on winning the silver medal. He will continue to inspire countless upcoming athletes to fulfill their dreams, and make our country proud.”

Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the Javelin Throw final at the Paris Olympics 2024. Neeraj threw the javelin 89.45 meters in the medal match, but it did not prove enough for the reigning World Champion and Diamond League Final winner as Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan garnered the gold with a new Olympic record. Arshad Nadeem set a new Olympic record by 92.97 meters.
