Pakistan's right-handed batsman Hasan Nawaz has suffered a major setback. He has been dropped from the Pakistan squad for the upcoming three-match ODI and T20 tri-nation series against Sri Lanka. The PCB has included Fakhar Zaman in Pakistan's T20 squad in his place, while no replacement has been announced for the ODI series.

In a statement, the PCB said, "Hasan Nawaz will now participate in Pakistan's premier first-class competition, the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, the seventh round of which begins on November 11."

Hasan Nawaz has scored 113 runs in four ODIs and 457 runs in 25 T20Is for Pakistan so far. He had a poor performance in the ODI series against South Africa at home, scoring a total of 9 runs in three ODIs.

The ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from November 11-15, followed by a tri-nation series at the Gaddafi Stadium in Rawalpindi and Lahore from November 17-29.

The tri-nation series is important for the three teams in preparation for the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka.
