Mohsin Naqvi Trolled for Dragging India into PSL Crowd Controversy
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi claimed an oil shortage in India to avoid questions about the low viewership of the PSL. His statement has been widely mocked on social media.
Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), tried to salvage his reputation with a statement that became ridiculed all over the nation. In an attempt to defend the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Naqvi talked about India, hence the reason for the mocking of his name.
Naqvi’s statement caught everyone off guard in the cricketing circles. As a response to questions regarding the lack of fan attendance in the league, Naqvi talked about India.
Earlier on, Naqvi had stated that the lack of fans attending the PSL was because of the fuel crisis in the country due to the war between Iran, Israel, and the United States. However, on Tuesday, Naqvi retracted his statement. He stated that the oil situation in Pakistan is good, but in India it is bad, and there are long queues at petrol pumps.

When asked if spectators would return to the PSL, Naqvi said, "I spoke to the PSL team owners and teams today. The Karachi Kings have also appealed. I will speak to the Prime Minister and appeal to him again to do whatever possible, but we must understand the current global oil shortage."
He said, "We are working for peace. We hope peace will come soon. Our stance is different. There is an oil shortage in India. There are long queues at petrol pumps there."
As soon as Naqvi's statement surfaced, he was trolled. He was widely ridiculed on social media, with some saying that Naqvi's unprovoked mention of India suggests he's trying to distract people from the problems in Pakistan.
