Lt Gen Ghai Details Operation Sindoor: 12 Pakistani Fighter Aircraft Lost, 100+ Soldiers Killed
Indian Army DGMO Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai revealed that over 100 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 12 fighter aircraft destroyed during Operation Sindoor. He stated that India achieved its political and military objectives of punishing Pakistan for cross-border terrorism in the military conflict that took place in May.
On Tuesday, Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai, Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of the Indian Army said that based on posthumous awards given by the Pakistan Army, it can be concluded that over 100 enemy soldiers were killed along the Line of Control during Operation Sindoor.
Pakistan released this list on August 14. The DGMO also said that Pakistan lost 12 fighter aircraft in the military conflict that took place in May. He said that through Operation Sindoor, India achieved its political and military objectives of punishing Pakistan for cross-border terrorism. At the Conference of Heads of State Parties to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission (UNTCC), Lieutenant General Ghai detailed the military conflict that took place between May 7 and 10.
He said that as soon as India attacked nine bases across the border on May 7, Pakistan began shelling. "It took only 88 hours to bring the enemy to their knees," he said. "We went after the terrorists, and once this objective was achieved, we had no intention of escalating the operation unless forced to." On May 9 and 10, the Indian Air Force targeted 11 Pakistani air bases.
