In the 43rd match of the Indian Premier League 2024, Australia's Jack Fraser McGurk scored a half-century in just 15 balls. He hit Luke Wood for 19 runs in the first over. In the third over, Nuwan Thusara scored 18 runs by hitting 4 fours. He completed his half-century by hitting a six off Piyush Chawla on the second ball of the fourth over. This is the fastest half-century of this season.

Jack Fraser McGurk was included in the team for just Rs 50 lakh after the injury to South Africa's Lungi Ngidi. This Australian batsman defeated Mumbai's millionaire bowlers and scored the third-fastest half-century in IPL history. Piyush Chawla showed McGurk the way to the pavilion by getting him caught by Mohammad Nabi. He played an inning of 84 runs in 27 balls with the help of 11 fours and 6 sixes.

Thanks to this innings of McGurk, Delhi scored 92 runs in the powerplay itself. That included a stormy half-century from McGurk. Not only this, he faced 24 balls in the powerplay and scored 78 runs. He also became the third batsman to score the most runs in the powerplay in the history of IPL. In the year 2014, Suresh Raina of Chennai Super Kings scored 87 runs, while in the same year, Travis Head of Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 84 runs against Delhi Capitals.

This season, McGurk has scored two half-centuries in fifteen balls. He had earlier beaten Sunrisers Hyderabad by scoring a half-century in just 15 balls. The batsman who has scored the fastest half-century for the Delhi Capitals in IPL history is none other than this Australian. Against the Gujarat Lions in 2016, Chris Morris scored a half-century in 17 balls, and 2019, captain Rishabh Pant scored a fifty in 18 balls.
