Rajasthan's E-Bus Rollout Under the Chief Secretary's Scanner
Jaipur. The pace of Rajasthan's PM E-Bus Sewa Yojana rollout is now being tracked directly at the Chief Secretary's level. On Wednesday, V. Srinivas chaired a review meeting to assess the scheme's progress, bottlenecks and the road ahead. The meeting was attended by Ravi Jain, Secretary of the Department of Local Self Government, along with senior officials from all concerned departments, while officials from the eight districts running the e-bus service joined via video conferencing.
Barely a Fifth of the Target Delivered
The numbers presented at the meeting tell the real story of where the scheme stands. Rajasthan is slated to receive 1150 e-buses in two phases, but only 229 have been delivered so far — roughly 20 percent of the target. That gap explains why Srinivas issued clear instructions to officials: charging infrastructure must be built and commissioned on a strict timeline so buses can run smoothly and commuters see actual relief, not just announcements.
