Sirsa: The AYUSH department organised awareness programmes on Poshan Vatika (nutrition gardens) and medicinal plants in several villages of Sirsa district under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The programmes were held in villages including Dharampura, Sherpura, Bhavdeen, Bharokhan and Kanwarpura. During the drive, residents were given medicinal plants and seed balls and were informed about their importance.

Encouraging Gardens at Home

District AYUSH Officer Dr. Ashu Sharma said the department motivated people to develop nutrition gardens and plant medicinal plants in and around their homes.

Residents were told that medicinal plants are useful for both health and the environment, and that public participation plays an important role in conserving and promoting them.
