He faced challenges with stomach aches and weight gain in Nagoya as well, but managed to control his weight by eating Indian food and arrived in Japan a day early to win the bronze medal. The advice of Russian coach Ali Shabanov also played a crucial role in his preparation.
The loss of gold at the Hangzhou Asian Games continued to torment Aman Sehrawat. Aman Sehrawat remained haunted by the loss of the gold medal. Though he bagged the bronze medal, he was not satisfied within himself. And that is the reason why he took complete seclusion after winning the bronze medal.
Aman wanted to take revenge for his loss at the Hangzhou Asian Games in Nagoya, but stomach pain that occurred during the World Championships remained a cause of concern for him. He had to undergo disqualification for being 1700 grams overweight and a ban from the Wrestling Federation due to stomach pain. Speaking to Amar Ujala, Aman says that he does not like eating outside food. That is why the whole team reached Japan on September 26th, but Aman reached there on 30th September only. He kept his weight in control through Indian food. It was because of his fear that his excess weight may remain an issue due to Japanese food. That is why he reached there just before the competition.
Aman had prepared for the Asian Games with Russian coach Ali Shabanov. Aman says that Ali's visa was not approved, which prevented him from coming here, but he was in constant communication with Ali. Ali's only advice to him was to not watch videos of any wrestlers; he should focus only on his game and his strengths. Aman did just that and it paid off.
