Shakira, Dua Lipa Sing 'Antología' Together in Madrid

Why It Matters: A Duet That Started as a Tribute

The Madrid duet is the second chapter of a story that began almost a year ago. On November 28, 2025, during her Radical Optimism Tour concert at Bogotá's El Campín stadium, Dua surprised fans by singing "Antología" in Spanish.

The choice was especially meaningful. Although Shakira is from Barranquilla, she wrote much of her album Pies Descalzos, including "Antología," while living in Bogotá, when she was around 17. The song was released in 1995 and became one of her most beloved early hits.

Shakira responded at the time with an emotional post. "I'm so touched to hear my song in Dua's voice, in the same city where I wrote it years ago. See how music brings us together? a girl from London and another one from Barranquilla! Thanks @dualipa! What a treat!" she wrote.

Ten months later, the tribute became a duet, with Dua singing the song beside the woman who wrote it.

Two Global Icons

Shakira, 49, is known for hits like "Hips Don't Lie" and "Whenever, Wherever," and is credited with taking Spanish-language music to a global audience. Dua Lipa, the British-Albanian star behind "Levitating," has made a habit of honouring local music on tour, as she did with Shakira's song in Colombia.

A Big Year for Dua

The Madrid night caps a memorable year for Dua. She married actor Callum Turner in an intimate civil ceremony at London's Old Marylebone Town Hall on May 31, 2026, followed by a celebration in Sicily. The couple had confirmed their engagement in June 2025.

The Bottom Line

What began as a heartfelt cover in Bogotá ended with Shakira and Dua Lipa singing "Antología" together in Madrid, proof, as Shakira put it, of how music brings people together.
