As we all know, Germany is the most economically powerful country in Europe and the country is expanding its its job market for Indians. The German government has made a decision to provide 90,000 work visas to Indians every year. However, till now only 20,000 Indians used to get visas in this category.

The number of visas can also be increased in the coming days. This was given as an announcement by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who is on a visit to India. On Friday, he called on PM Narendra Modi and discussed all the dimensions of the relations between the two countries. PM Modi informed about this announcement of Germany and welcomed it.

Addressing the 18th Asia Pacific Conference of German Businesses, the APK-2024, PM Modi said, "Germany has decided to increase that number from 20 thousand to 90 thousand visas given every year to the trained Indians. I am confident, this will give new impetus to the growth of Germany". Not only is Germany the biggest economy in Europe, but compared with other European countries, it also has better prospects for economic growth rates.

Whereas many other European countries are struggling with the problem of illegal migrants and economic recession, Germany is in a strong position but needs labor to keep up with the fast economic growth rate at which only India is in a position to fulfill for the time being. Chancellor Scholz specially gives priority to strengthening the relations between India and Germany in particular. India has been specially mentioned on the form related to the governance of his coalition government.

Before coming to India, the cabinet of Scholz cleared a form called Focus on India. Only the second country with which Germany has issued special form regarding relations is it. It has been mentioned in detailed manner that providing opportunities for India's successful and professional workers in Germany is necessary. For last four or five years, Germany has been attracting Indian workers. The result is that the population of the Indian community has increased manifold to 2.50 lakh there.

Indians make up the largest percentage of international students at German universities, according to Chancellor Scholz. Within last year, 23,000 Indian professionals started working in Germany. He stated that priority will be given to expeditiously issuing visas to Indian workers and students. Germany will, however, restrict illegal immigration and only accept workers with formal education.

"Germany needs four lakh professional workers annually, and many of them will be taken from India," stated Hubertus Heil, the German Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. Germany has excellent experience, and Indian workers are respected globally. Eight agreements, including labour and employment-related ones, were inked between Germany and India Thursday.
