Yamaha Motor Company has revealed the first glimpse of the updated MT-09. It will be presented at EICMA 2023, which is scheduled to be held in Milan from November 7. According to the information, the 2024 Yamaha MT-09 will be launched globally in the spring season of 2024. However, the company has not yet announced any timeline for launching it in India. Talking about the features, the 2024 MT-09 now gets a new 5-inch full-color TFT instrument cluster, which now gets connectivity features and a Type-C socket for charging mobile devices. The manufacturer has also added Yamaha Ride Control and Cruise Control to it. The 2024 Yamaha MT-09 gets 5 riding modes, of which 3 are preset and 2 are customisable.
The suspension tuning has been retuned. It is now slightly less harsh up front and the engine suspension is now more rigid. The damping specifications have also been changed and the rear suspension has also been changed. Yamaha is now using Bridgestone Battlax HyperSport S23 tyres. Talking about tyres, they come with new 17-inch spinforged aluminum wheels.
Powering the 2024 MT-09 is the same 890 cc, CP3, three-cylinder engine, which is liquid-cooled. It produces 117.3 bhp at 10,000 rpm and peak torque output of 93 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The gearbox on duty is a 6-speed unit, which comes with a slip and assist clutch.
