Election Commission's 'stick' on top officials of Rajasthan issued these strict orders

The Election Commission has started showing strictness against the laxity of the officials in the election work. It has started from the districts bordering Punjab and Haryana. In this series, Alwar Collector Pukhraj Sen, Bhiwadi SP Karan Sharma, Churu Superintendent of Police Rajesh Meena, and Hanumangarh Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary have been removed. The Commission had recently warned in the review meeting itself that the Commission is keeping an eye on some districts.

The department immediately relieved these officers and kept them waiting for posting. The charge of Collector has been handed over to the Deputy District Election Officer and the charge of SP has been handed over to the local Additional Superintendents of Police. The Commission has taken this action citing the need to ensure fair and inducement-free elections. The Commission had received information about illegal liquor coming to Rajasthan from Haryana and Punjab and reaching Gujarat via Dungarpur, Sirohi, and other districts. Recently, during the review meeting during the visit to Jaipur, the Commission team had sought information from the officials regarding the action taken, on which these officials could not give satisfactory information.

It is said that satisfactory information about the voter list could not be received from Alwar, due to which the Collector here has been punished. Similarly, it is being told that action has been taken against the three Superintendents of Police for not getting satisfactory answers in the matter of arresting the liquor coming from Punjab-Haryana and those who lured them.
