WN7 Launched: Honda’s First Electric Motorcycle Matches 600cc Petrol Power
Honda WN7: Honda, the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has finally unveiled its first electric motorcycle. The company unveiled the Honda WN7 in Europe, marking the brand's entry into the electric biking world.

Honda, the largest two-wheeler maker in the world, finally launched its first electric motorcycle. The company launched the Honda WN7 in Europe, thus entering the electric biking scene.
The name of the bike also signifies its vision. The "W" denotes "Be the Wind," its streetfighter appearance, "N" denotes "Naked," its streetfighter appearance, and "7" denotes its power output. So, the WN7 unites Honda's heritage with its new electric identity.
Honda WN7 is powered by the EV Fun Concept. It made its first appearance at the 2024 EICMA show in Milan. It has a fixed lithium-ion battery that provides over 130 kilometers of range on a single charge. Its charging technology is also unique—it can be charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 30 minutes using a CCS2 fast charger. Full charging at home takes less than three hours.
Honda claims the WN7's power is equivalent to that of a 600cc petrol bike, while its torque is as powerful as that of a 1000cc bike. This means you'll experience fast acceleration and smooth, noise-free riding.
The bike is quite futuristic in terms of design, with a minimalist stance, sharp body lines, and a clear influence of electric styling. The center of the bike features a 5-inch TFT screen with Honda RoadSync support. This screen provides navigation, music, and call notifications for the rider.
The Honda WN7 isn't just a new bike, but the beginning of the company's larger vision. Honda has pledged to make all its motorcycles carbon-neutral by 2040 and the entire company carbon-neutral by 2050.
Given the tightening emission regulations and growing demand for EVs, Europe is the perfect place for this launch. Through this, Honda is also conveying its readiness to compete directly with new startups and innovators in the electric segment. The company has clarified that 2024 is the first year of its global electric motorcycle expansion and that many new models will be launched in the future, ranging from commuter to performance bikes.
