Due to this, there may be heavy rain in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, heavy rain occurred in many areas of Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu districts of Tamil Nadu on Saturday. Many trains are also being canceled.

The Chennai Meteorological Department issued a warning of rain, storm, and lightning for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for the next three hours. The Meteorological Department said on Saturday that the pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal may turn into cyclonic storm Michong on December 3.

Due to this, there may be heavy rain in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, heavy rain occurred in many areas of Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu districts of Tamil Nadu on Saturday. Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena reviewed the precautionary measures regarding the storm with senior officials.

Chennai International Airport authorities also reviewed preparations to deal with Cyclone Michong. South Central Railway has canceled 142 trains. Chief Minister MK Stalin said that ministers, MPs, MLAs, and local body members should help the people in their respective areas.

The weather department's bulletin said that the storm would reach near the South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu coasts by December 4 afternoon. After this, it will move almost towards the north. It will cross the South Andhra Pradesh coast between Nellore and Machilipatnam on Tuesday afternoon.

According to S Balachandran, Deputy Director General of the Regional Meteorological Centre, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu. Strong winds reaching 60-70 kmph gusting to 80 kmph are likely to prevail over south-west Bay of Bengal from December 2 to December 4. After this, it will gradually reduce.
