HMD New Smartphone Teased in India: Dual Rear Cameras, Vibe Branding and Flipkart Availability

The company HMD has teased the launch of a new Pro smartphone in India. Although the name of the upcoming smartphone has not been revealed yet, it is expected to be called "HMD Pro". The tagline of the teaser video is "Pro is about to focus on one thing: your Vibe", and also invites users to guess what is behind the lens. Hence, there are chances that the upcoming smartphone may include some new camera features.

The teaser video comes with a "coming soon" tag. The new HMD Pro smartphone is expected to be launched for sale in the country through Flipkart. It will go on sale during Flipkart's "The Big Billion Days" sale event.

The 13-second video shows the rear design of the upcoming phone. It includes the design in a silver color with rounded corners. The rear design includes the presence of a dual rear camera setup, which has two big, raised round lens cutouts placed vertically. The LED flash ring is placed in a smaller circle below the topmost lens. The entire camera module is housed within a rounded rectangular island.

The teaser features a 'Vibe' tag, which could link this new device to HMD's recently introduced Vibe series. However, it's not yet confirmed whether the upcoming smartphone will be part of the Vibe lineup.

HMD launched its Vibe 2 5G smartphone in India earlier this year at a starting price of ₹10,999. It was released in Cosmic Lavender, Nordic Blue, and Peach Pink colors and is currently available on Flipkart.

The HMD Vibe 2 5G features a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on an octa-core Unisoc processor paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. It features an AI-powered rear camera unit, including a 50-megapixel primary camera. It also has an 8-megapixel front camera and is IP64 rated for dust and water resistance. The phone has a 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
