Tata Kuno EV to Rival MG Windsor, Launch Expected in 2027-28: What We Know
Tata's new electric car, the Tata Kuno EV, is expected to arrive in 2027-28. It will offer family buyers a new option between the Nexon EV and Sierra EV.
Tata Motors enjoys a firm grip on the market for electric passenger vehicles in India. The range of vehicles in its line-up includes electric cars such as Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV, which have enabled Tata to carve out a niche for itself in the sub-4-meter segment. In the case of the midsize segment of the electric car market, Tata finds itself competing against other brands such as MG Windsor EV.
The Tata Kuno EV is one such electric vehicle that will act as a competitor for the MG Windsor EV. The production name for this electric vehicle is not known yet, but its potential position means that this vehicle can be offered to customers who prefer electric vehicles with more room. At the moment, MG Windsor is the best selling EV in the midsize segment.
Official information regarding the launch of the Tata Kuno EV is not yet available. However, current estimates suggest it could be launched by 2027-28. It is expected to slot between the next-generation Nexon EV and Sierra EV in the company's electric car portfolio. The next-generation Nexon EV is currently codenamed Garud. Thus, the Kuno EV could become a new option between Tata's existing and upcoming electric models.
