The programme highlighted Maharaja Agrasen’s famous tradition of “ek eent, ek rupaya” (one brick, one rupee). According to tradition, every family in his city of Agroha would give a newcomer one brick and one rupee, enough to build a home and start a business. Speakers described it as an enduring symbol of social cooperation, equality and collective progress.

In modern housing societies, where neighbours often remain strangers, such community celebrations help revive that spirit of mutual support.
