The Supreme Court will take up for hearing on Monday the petition by AAP MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra challenging his arrest and remand to ED in the money laundering case related to the bank fraud case.

The matter will likely be listed for hearing before the vacation bench comprising Justice CT Ravi Kumar and Justice Manoj Mishra. The SC had earlier refused to grant any interim bail to the Punjab MLA for campaigning in the Lok Sabha elections.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court, too, had refused to entertain the petition against the legislator's arrest as there is no illegality therein. In May 2023, the CBI raided premises linked to Gajjan Majra in a Rs 40 crore bank fraud case.

The ED raided some premises related to him in connection with a money laundering case linked to bank loan fraud. After that, in this case, the recovered property, according to the ED team, included Rs 32 lakh cash, a few mobile phones, and hard disks.
