Shreyas Iyer Blames Bowling Execution After India Lose 4th T20I to West Indies

All of this started with the bowling. Line and length wasn't right, and when you need to chase 250, there's definitely a certain strategy involved. So, while chasing the total, I loved the way we went about the innings, but we were unlucky not to execute our bowling plan, and that's where we fell a little short.

Responding to this question, he said, "No, we were going at 12 runs per over even then. It's just that they executed their plan, and the ball was a little off the wicket. The ball was kicking a bit, and they used the field very well. So, credit is due where it's due, and their execution was perfect."

He said, "Yes, the ball was stopping a bit and bouncing a bit more. But I think the bowlers realized that. The way they bowled according to the field was crucial, especially in those middle overs. Even though the momentum shifted in our favor, our ability to come back was top-notch, and I'm sure the fifth match will be interesting."

West Indies level the series 2-2. An important decider awaits in Bengaluru on Saturday. Scorecard ▶️ https://t.co/ksuQbTW6n5 #TeamIndia | #INDvWI | @mflone_ https://t.co/i7juMPuEe9 — BCCI (@BCCI) October 14, 2026

He added, "Scoring 220, especially when we were chasing, and then scoring 250, you can see everyone's approach and attitude. The approach is going to remain the same, and I think we don't need to think too much about our bowling going forward. But it's all about execution and that fresh mindset. You come in that day and see what you do, then you seize the moment."
