'Bol Bachchan doesn't suit', Rohit's statement on Konstas-Bumrah controversy during Sydney Test

Regular captain of the Indian team Rohit Sharma gave his opinion on the controversy between Sam Konstas and Jaspreet Bumrah on the first day of the fifth Test match being played in Sydney against Australia. Rohit said that it does not suit the players to get entangled without any reason. The rivalry between Bumrah and Konstas was seen from the fourth Test played in Melbourne when this young Australian batsman adopted an aggressive stance against Bumrah. At the same time, Bumrah bowled Konstas in the second innings.

The atmosphere during the match got heated when Bumrah was taking a run up to bowl the fifth ball in the third over of Australia's innings, but he saw that Khawaja was not ready to bat. Bumrah showed his anger to that and was overseen saying something to the Aussie opener. At the same time, Konstas stood at the non-striker's end and, looking at Bumrah, started murmuring something or other, thereby frustrating Bumrah because he too neared Konstas. Bumrah approached Konstas to say some stuff, however, he was contained at the spot by that one umpire so that he couldn't reach within feet of each other. Seeing the argument between Konstas and Bumrah, the spectators started shouting loudly and the atmosphere got heated within no time.

Rohit said the Indian players' focus is only on doing their work. During the lunch break on the second day of the fifth Test, Rohit told the official broadcaster Star Sports, "As long as we remain calm against Australia, our players remain calm. If you tease them, then everyone cannot remain calm. Play cricket, it doesn't suit you to do this useless thing like Bol Bachchan.". Our players are classy and our focus is just on finishing our work.
