Security agencies across the country have gone on high alert following the blast near the Red Fort in Delhi. At all sensitive locations, including airports, railway stations, and metro stations, security has been tightened. The police have intensified checks and other security measures aimed at preventing any untoward incident.

According to Mid-Day, security has also been increased in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. No specific threat has been reported to Mumbai yet, but officials said that given the sensitivity of the incident and the metropolis's history of terrorist attacks, precautionary measures were necessary. Strict surveillance is being maintained at all major transport hubs, religious sites, markets, and coastal areas in Mumbai.

The intelligence units have been asked to monitor online chats and verify any suspicious activity or communication. Local police stations have been instructed to conduct surprise checks at hotels, lodges, and rental accommodations and verify the identity of new tenants and outside visitors.
