It is an extended model for search, now based on the GPT-4o, but fine-tuned even further with output distillation, using innovative synthetic data creation methods such as that of OpenAI o1-preview. The responses ChatGPT Search will depend on third-party search engines and directly provided content from partnered providers to answer users.

The information for the poll questions is to be taken from outlets like AP and Reuters. In addition, OpenAI has said there will be further refinement in its search capabilities, particularly about shopping and travel, using its o1 "reasoning" model for more exhaustive research.
