NTA Still Dependent on Private Agencies Despite NEET Paper Leak Recommendations
NEET Paper Leak: Despite the High-Power Committee's recommendations, the NTA is not ending its reliance on private agencies, raising the specter of exam malpractices. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has sought cooperation from states for the re-conduct of the NEET-UG exam and requested necessary facilities at the exam centers.
The High-Power Committee asked the NTA to stop depending on private agencies and to develop their own test platform in order to avoid paper leaks. However, even now the NTA is dependent on private agencies.
The proposal was made after the 2024 NEET-UG paper leak revealed that private agencies were involved in the majority of examination-related activities.
Dr. K., former head of ISRO, along with other members of the High Power Committee headed by Mr. Radhakrishnan, proposed two recommendations for the NTA to ensure credibility in conducting the examination. Some recommendations required urgent measures, while some recommended bigger steps.
