The National Investigation Agency raided 11 places across Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, allegedly conducting an 'anti-election campaign'. Raids were conducted at the houses of 11 suspects residing in Chennai, Tambaram, and Kanyakumari districts besides seizing the objectionable material including digital equipment of HUT, unaccounted cash, and literature for conducting anti-election camps.

The search was conducted in connection with the case of spreading discontent and running anti-election campaigns through various social media handles by HUT. The investigation conducted by the NIA has brought out that HUT is a radical organization that incites its followers to remove the democratic government by doing all sorts of wrong things.

Hameed Hussain is the prime conspirator in the case. The six accused held clandestine meetings and activities in various parts of Tamil Nadu to further the anti-India ideology of Hizb-ut-Tahrir and undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. NIA took up this case in July last year from the Chennai City Police.
