The heat has begun to take effect in the country. The temperature has crossed 35 degrees in most states. As the heat keeps rising, the condition of the citizens is deteriorating. The same has happened in Assam too where the temperature has gone up to 33 degrees on Tuesday. At the same time, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has provided good news to the citizens of the state. CM Sarma has made an announcement on Tuesday that cheap electricity will be provided to the poor citizens of the state. He has informed that I am not fooling you on April Fool's day, it is all true.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on his social media account, April has come. The cost will go up but your bill will be less. From now on, households in Assam will have a relief of Rs 1 per unit in the bill for electricity. And there will be a year-end discount as well. It is not an April Fool's prank.

The government has already announced that the electricity bill will be less from April 1. The new rates have come into effect from today. There will be a reduction of one rupee per unit in electricity rates for all domestic consumers, which will give them relief from the huge electricity bill in the scorching heat. Apart from domestic consumers, agricultural, industrial, and commercial tariffs have also been reduced by 25 paise per unit. Let us tell you that this was a promise made in the budget which the government has fulfilled.
