Jasprit Bumrah has bowled exceptionally well in the last two matches, helping India advance in the ongoing T20 World Cup. India will face New Zealand in the final match on Sunday in Ahmedabad. The New Zealand team is most worried about Jasprit Bumrah. New Zealand’s strong batsman Glenn Phillips said before the match, "Jasprit Bumrah is also a human being. He too can have a bad day like everyone else. So, we are hoping to have a good day against him."

Jasprit Bumrah had a major moment in the match against the West Indies by dismissing West Indies’ Roston Chase and Shimron Hetmyer in one over, nearly winning the match. Jasprit Bumrah also dismissed the dangerous English captain Harry Brook in the high-scoring match against England on Thursday.

New Zealand's explosive batsman Glenn Phillips is probably worried about this as well. Phillips said before the match, "Bumrah is human. He can have a bad day, just like the rest of us. So hopefully, we'll have a good day against him." Perhaps he's praying to God for Bumrah's failure. He said, "We had a good trip against him in the bilateral series as well, but he's a class bowler. He has a lot of variations, and he hits very well in the death overs."

Teams often play defensively against Bumrah, hoping to deny him wickets and instead attack other Indian bowlers in the playing XI. England's Jacob Bethell and Sam Curran also adopted a similar approach against the fast bowler, but they paid a heavy price for it. Bumrah's last two overs yielded only 14 runs, and the English team lost the match by a small margin. Imagine what would have happened if they had hit some boundaries in those two overs?

It's not that Bumrah didn't bowl well in those two overs, but they weren't willing to attack him, either out of respect for him or perhaps fear. Phillips has made it clear that they won't do so.

He said that this (defensive approach against Bumrah) isn't necessarily the case. He said, "As I said, a bowler is allowed to miss, and if he misses, we have to keep him out." It also means that if he bowls, we will have to adjust and adapt to other things as well.
