A shocking incident has occurred in Bikaner district, Rajasthan, where a female police officer, who had arrived to investigate a case, was attacked by a pet pitbull dog. Head Constable Mali Jakhar (47) was seriously injured in the attack, suffering multiple bites on her hands and legs.
A shocking incident occurred at Bikaner district in Rajasthan. A female police officer who came to investigate an incident was attacked by a pitbull dog owned by a woman. Head Constable Mali Jakhar (47) sustained severe injuries as she was bitten by the dog at various points on her hands and legs.
Head Constable Mali Jakhar of JNVC police station said in her report that on March 2, 2026, she and female sub-inspector Sharda of the same police station went to Manisha Modi’s house at Chanakya Nagar to verify a complaint. When they arrived at the house, a young woman came out of the house and asked the police to call Manisha Modi.
After a while, the woman came out with a pitbull dog and kept it at the gate before going back inside and closing the door. It is alleged that the dog immediately pounced on Head Constable Jakhar, biting him several times on his arms and legs. ASI Sharda and other police officers present at the scene managed to free him from the dog's clutches and rushed him to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.

The complainant alleged that Manisha Modi and her daughter deliberately released the dog, inciting the police to attack and obstructing government work. Following the incident, the mother and daughter locked themselves inside the house.
Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against Manisha Modi and another woman at the JNV police station. Action is being taken under Section 353 (obstruction of public order), assault, and other relevant sections. Station House Officer Vikram Vishnoi stated that strict action will be taken against the accused, and appropriate legal action will be taken after the investigation is complete.
