Everything is not well between the former Indian captain Virat Kohli and the current head coach Gautam Gambhir. A cold war-like situation has developed within the team between the senior players and the head coach, which the media and social networking sites are talking about. The Board of Control for Cricket in India took immediate action with these reports.

The BCCI, ahead of the second ODI between India and South Africa at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, has sent selection committee member and former spinner Pragyan Ojha with the team. Ojha has been entrusted with the responsibility of clearing the ongoing misunderstandings and tensions between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir by speaking to them separately.

Meanwhile, a video is rapidly going viral on social media, showing Virat Kohli having a long and serious conversation with Pragyan Ojha at the airport. This video indicates that the mediation process has begun.

According to media reports, the root of the dispute is the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The BCCI wants all senior players to participate in domestic ODI tournaments before the Test series to regain their rhythm. Former captain Rohit Sharma has agreed to this rule and may play the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Mumbai, but Virat Kohli, who is staying with his family in London, has not yet agreed to this.

Kohli believes that he does not need additional preparation from additional matches. In a press conference after being named Player of the Match in the Ranchi ODI, he clearly stated, "I never believe in preparing by playing too much cricket." This view conflicts with the BCCI's current domestic cricket mandatory rule. The Board is reluctant to relax the rules for any one player, as this could lead to resentment among other players.

Currently, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli play only in the ODI format for India, and both are in good form, as evidenced in the ongoing series against South Africa. However, the differences in their stances on domestic cricket participation have created a complex situation for the BCCI.
