With the market getting excited over Diwali, it is now time for the economy to get excited about Diwali as well. With good domestic sales on Diwali and good export numbers, the growth rate is expected to be above 7 percent in the third quarter (October-December) of the current fiscal year 2026-27. The growth rate for the first quarter (April-June) was 7.8 percent.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the growth rate for the second quarter (July-September) would also be around 7.35 percent. The World Bank and the IMF are expecting growth of 7 percent for the entire fiscal year.
