American electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid Motors has once again demonstrated to the world the significant progress made in EV technology. The company has recently set a new Guinness World Record. The company's electric car, Lucid Air Grand Touring, has completed the journey from St. Moritz in Switzerland to Munich in Germany in a single charge. The car has covered this distance on a full charge. It had to cover a distance of 1,205 km to complete this journey.

Even prior to that, Lucid Air Grand Touring has set a record. In 2024, it broke a record in the electric vehicle world by covering nine nations on one charge. This record set by this vehicle this time is even more unique, as it has been set in actual road conditions and not in any laboratory test. Speed and loads have been put to the test in its journey, from hills to the German Autobahn.

It is available with numerous great and next-gen electric systems. Its WLTP range is claimed to be 960 km by the company. It produces a power of 831 PS. Its highest speed is 270 km/h. It provides a range of 400 km in 16 minutes of charging. Its high-voltage architecture and smart battery management system make it stand above all other EVs in terms of long range and fast charging.

Lucid Motors may be California-based, but it is now owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), which holds about a 60% stake in the company. The company has started its first international manufacturing unit in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) and will supply 1 lakh vehicles in the next 10 years under an agreement with the Saudi government. This record not only shows the new direction of the EV industry, but also shows that now electric cars can outperform petrol cars in covering long distances.
