Shubman Gill Returns to Domestic Cricket, Set to Play Vijay Hazare Trophy in Jaipur
Shubman Gill returns: Like Virat Kohli's recent domestic matches, Indian ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill's Vijay Hazare Trophy matches will also be played behind closed doors. The Punjab vs. Sikkim match will be played at the Jaipuria College Ground on Saturday, December 3rd.
After the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the Indian ODI and Test team captain Shubman Gill is set to make a comeback in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Saturday, the 3rd of December. This will be his first home match after being dropped from the Indian T20 World Cup team, which will be held at the Jaipuria College Ground in Jaipur. Shubman Gill will play for Punjab against Sikkim in the match, but the key point here is that the match inside the stadium won't be allowed to be spectators. This has been devised as per the guidelines from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
Following directives from the BCCI, Shubman Gill and Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh are to feature for Punjab in the forthcoming two matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Punjab will face Sikkim on January 3rd and Goa on January 6th. The match against Goa will be played at the KL Saini Stadium, while the match against Sikkim is scheduled at the Jaipuria College Ground.
The matches will be played behind closed doors due to player safety and the lack of seating for spectators. The report quoted a board source as saying that only college personnel will be allowed inside. Students and staff are permitted inside the campus, but adequate security arrangements, including the deployment of private bouncers, will be in place. Under no circumstances will any outsider be allowed to enter the college campus.

It's worth noting that Mumbai's match had to be shifted from Anantham to the Sawai Man Singh Stadium, anticipating further backlash due to Rohit Sharma. Like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's Vijay Hazare Trophy matches, Gill's match will also not be available to fans on TV or online.
