The aviation company said in a statement that the company will partner with French aerospace group Thales Group to work on a tool to detect fatigue.
The airline said that we are committed to ensuring the well-being of our pilots, their health and mental satisfaction and ultimately enhancing the safety of passengers.
Under this program to assess the fatigue of pilots, information regarding statistics of men and women, routes, profiles of crew members, etc. will be collected. In cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai, pilots will have to go through a five-minute screening process for IndiGo.
Overall, the airline will continue its existing system where pilots can take leave citing fatigue. The airline operates around 1,900 flights daily. More than 4 thousand pilots of the company perform 4 take-offs and landings every day.
